Two yet unresolved Iconia W511 Issues

Hi, I'm in the midst of a corporate deployment of these devices, which in most parts are adequate but we have two problems that are still unsolved, so in the meantime, I'm trying this forum to see if the collective brains trust has any ideas.

 

1.  APN details disappearing.  We have a corporate APN enabled simcard with a pre-allocated username, password etc which are entered into the mobile broadband connection properties.  However regularly these details drop out and default to the basic Telstra properties.  Most of our fleet have experienced it and some more regularly than others.  Its a continual annoyance for users to re-enter it.

 

I tried the third party Telstra broadband manager app - which seems to solve the problem, but then the 3G/Wireless connectivity isn't seemless and needs to be managed manually.

 

2.  No connectivity when switching between 3G and Wireless.  Unlike every smartphone I have owned, the Iconia won't seemlessly switch between networks. Usually when switching from 3G back to WiFi, the device says it is connected however it clearly isn't.  It works however after a reboot, which is another annoyance for users.  Althought the new firmware has made it slightly better - still seems to be a problem.

 

Is anyone else experiencing these ones?
