Aspire M5 battery stops charging at either 77% or 90%

Hey guys,

Just as a precursor, I have done about 2 weeks on-and-off research on this problem and still have yet to solve it. My Aspire M5-581t (Windows 8, 64-bit) was working fine until about 3 weeks after I purchaed it. The problem is this: when the computer is ON and in-use, the battery will only charge to either 77%, or 90%. I have found NO other intervals (percentages) and the only way I can get it to 100% (which is still attainable) is to shut off the computer and press the little battery reset button on the bottom side of the laptop.

I have tried uninstalling the Microsoft ACI compliant whatever-thingy and scanning for hardware changes, and this TEMPORARILY changes the little battery icon to show that it's charging, but eventually stops after about 10 seconds. Currently, my laptop says 77%, plugging in, charging, and the little orange light is even lit up to show that it's charging, but it's remaining at 77%.

If I turn off the laptop, press the battery reset button, then it will charge to 100%. But once it goes to sleep, hibernates, or resets, and I take it off the charger, it will only charge to either 77% (if it falls below that), or 90% if it stays above 77% before plugging it in again.

Again, I've been troubleshooting this for sometime now and hope to get some sort of different feedback than "bring it in for service" or "do a system restore". Any sort of tips or advice will be greatly helpful! Thanks in advance!
