Re: Predator Sense missing after fresh Windows 11 says "Model not supported"
After a fresh installation of Windows 11, PredatorSense can fail to install or say "Model not supported" because the clean OS install often removes crucial Acer-specific software and registry entries. The standard installer from Acer's website may not work because it checks for these pre-existing components.
Primary solution: Use the UWP folder installer
This method bypasses the standard setup program and is frequently reported to work by Acer users.
Download the correct version. Go to the Acer support website, search for your exact Predator model, and download the latest PredatorSense package for Windows 11.
Extract the files. Unpack the contents of the downloaded ZIP file to a new folder on your desktop.
Find the UWP folder. In the extracted files, locate the folder named PredatorSenseUWP or UWP.
Install the APPX file. Open the UWP folder and double-click the .appx or .appxbundle file inside. This should install the app from the Microsoft Store.
Install the service runtime. Go back to the main extracted folder, find the Plugs folder, and run the SSCERuntime.exe or a similar runtime file.
Run the main setup. After installing the UWP app and runtime, go back to the main folder and run the standard Setup.exe file. It should now install correctly without the error.
Restart your PC. Reboot your computer to ensure all services start correctly.

Re: Planning to buy a new laptop - Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI vs Alienware i7/i9, looking for community feedback
I have non-s version of latest Neo series, which is PHN16-73-9128. Having U9 275hx, rtx 5060. Flawless, having so much above average performance figures for each component. I like IPS rather than OLED because, it's better for eye health. And the contrast ratio on these new IPS panels are good enough and very small backlight bleed for an IPS panel IMHO. And you can use variable refresh rate between 60hz and 240hz with non-s version, which is good for battery life which you won't have with s version and although non-s version a little bit bulkier than the s version, it outperfoms the s version in terms of component performance ratings.
