Re: I want to buy more ram or memory but I dont really know much about computers. I have a Nitro AN517-41
Hi Coatl91
If you read the Crucial header on the link I shared, it explicitly confirms that the Crucial 32GB Kit (16GBx2) DDR4‑3200 SODIMM is compatible with your Nitro 5 AN517‑41.
I don’t recommend going for 64GB RAM — it’s very expensive and realistically you’ll never need that much memory for gaming or everyday workloads. The 32GB kit is the sweet spot: fully supported, cost‑effective, and more than enough for multitasking and performance.

Acersense not showing options after Installation on Aspire A515-58M
Hello,
I have recently installed Windows 10 on my Acer Aspire A515 58m and attempted to install Acersense. I have installed from the zip provided in the drivers section and updated it to the latest version using Microsoft store, however I am unable to see anything under the "Personal Settings" section and the checkup section is also missing things.
Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: Acer Predator Orion 7000 660 causes system crashes when PCIe 5.0 is enabled in BIOS
Hi dOnjOscO,
Enabling PCIe 5.0 in BIOS v1.09 on the Acer Predator Orion 7000 (PO7-660) is a known issue that frequently causes system instability, severe audio cracking, and complete crashes during gaming.
Currently, the only consistent way to maintain stability is to manually set the PCIe speed to PCIe 4.0 in the BIOS instead of using "Auto" or "PCIe 5.0".
Recommended Troubleshooting Steps
Lock PCIe to 4.0: Enter the BIOS by pressing F2 or Del during startup. Locate the PCIe Link Speed settings and change them from "Auto" or "Gen 5" to Gen 4.
Verify Microcode Updates: Stability issues on this platform are often linked to Intel 13th and 14th Gen processor voltage instabilities. Ensure you are checking for newer BIOS versions beyond v1.09, specifically those containing the 0x12F microcode update or later, which is designed to mitigate these exact types of crashes.
Update Drivers: Use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant and NVIDIA GeForce Experience to ensure all chipset and GPU drivers are fully up to date.
System Health Check: Run the following commands in an Administrator Command Prompt to repair potential OS-level corruption caused by the crashes:
Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
sfc /scannow
Hard Reset: If the system remains unresponsive, perform a "Hard Reset" by disconnecting the power cable and holding the power button for 30 seconds to discharge the motherboard.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may indicate a hardware limitation with the motherboard's implementation of PCIe 5.0 or a faulty component (like the PSU or GPU) that should be addressed via Acer Support.

Re: Acer predator helios neo 16 not powering on after critical battery and power reset
The orange light blinking for a second typically indicates a critical battery state where there is not enough power to even trigger the basic boot sequence. Because your laptop was in hibernation and then lost all power during a power cut, the battery likely reached a deeply discharged state that requires a specific reset to wake the charging controller and allow it to accept a charge again.
To perform a static discharge, you should first unplug the power adapter and all USB devices from the laptop. Press and hold the power button for a full sixty seconds to bleed any residual electricity from the motherboard. After letting the laptop sit for about fifteen to thirty minutes without any power connected, plug the charger back in and wait for the charging LED to turn a steady orange or blue before trying to turn it on.
On the Helios Neo 16, the power barrel must be pushed into the back port with enough force to feel or hear a physical click. If the plug is only partially inserted, it may show a brief blink but will not provide the necessary current to charge a dead battery. Ensure the connection is completely secure and leave the laptop plugged in for at least two to four hours before attempting to press the power button again.
You should also check the bottom cover of your laptop for a tiny hole marked with a battery symbol. If your specific model has this pinhole, unplug the charger and use a paperclip to press and hold the internal button for thirty to sixty seconds, then wait five minutes before reconnecting the power. If the orange light continues to blink briefly even after several hours of charging, the power cut may have caused a hardware handshake failure that requires professional repair at an Acer Service Center.

Re: I have an Aspire 3 A315-43-R30A, and want to fit a 2.5" 2TB SSD
Hi MarkT68,
Yes, you can install a 2.5-inch 2TB SSD in your Acer Aspire 3 A315-43-R30A, as the series typically includes a dedicated bay for SATA storage. While there is no strict storage capacity limit for the 2.5-inch drive slot itself, you must ensure the drive is formatted correctly (GPT for drives over 2TB) to be fully recognized by Windows.
Required Installation Hardware
To complete the upgrade, you will likely need specific hardware that may not have come with your laptop if it was originally sold with only an M.2 SSD:
SATA HDD/SSD Cable: A proprietary ribbon cable that connects the drive to the motherboard. Common part numbers for the Aspire 3 A315 series include C5V01 or NBX00026X00.
HDD Caddy/Bracket: A metal or plastic frame that secures the drive inside the laptop chassis.
Mounting Screws: Typically four screws to secure the drive to the bracket and another four to secure the bracket to the laptop chassis.
Installation Steps
Prepare the Laptop: Power off the device, unplug the power adapter, and remove the bottom case screws (usually 11 Phillips-head screws).
Disconnect the Battery: Once inside, carefully unplug the battery connector from the motherboard to avoid electrical shorts during installation.
Assemble the SSD: Secure your 2TB SSD into the caddy using the four side screws.
Connect the Cable: Attach the SATA cable to the SSD and find the corresponding 10-pin or 12-pin "HDD" connector on the motherboard.
Finalize: Secure the caddy into the laptop's 2.5-inch bay, reconnect the battery, and snap the bottom cover back into place.

Re: Acer Nitro V 15 (RTX 5050) not reaching 75W Maximum Graphics Power - Dynamic Boost issue?
Update: Solved!
I was able to figure it out. It turns out the GPU is actually reaching its full potential. I was relying on monitoring tools that only show the base 50W TDP (like CPU-Z or Task Manager).
I switched to GPU-Z and checked the "Board Power Draw" under the Sensors tab while running a stress test. I can confirm it's actually hitting over 80W with Dynamic Boost working perfectly.
False alarm, the laptop is running great. Thanks!

Re: Acer Nitro V 15 (RTX 5050) not reaching 75W Maximum Graphics Power - Dynamic Boost issue?
I presume that your laptop model is the Nitro ANV15-52 model? As you need to make sure that you have all the Win-11 25H2 updates to the last OS build: 26100.8117 and the latest bios version installed for your laptop and the new Acer RTX5050 firmware "Updates VBIOS for GeForce RTX 5050 (GN22-X2) GPU to enhance game compatibility" version 980729007E first.
Then make sure that you do a Clen Installation of the last NVidia Game ready driver version 595.97 and play these games that are supported by the NVidia app through that app and its ultimate settings, as then these games will not crash, its a very simple setup to do.
Re: Acer Nitro V 15 (RTX 5050) not reaching 75W Maximum Graphics Power - Dynamic Boost issue?
Hi Andrespuyol112312,
The Acer Nitro V 15 (ANV15-52) with the RTX 5050 is indeed rated for a 75W Maximum Graphics Power (MGP). If you are stuck at 50W, it typically indicates that Dynamic Boost 2.0 is not activating because the system perceives a "shared power" constraint or a software limitation.
Why Dynamic Boost Might Be Capping at 50W
Dynamic Boost 2.0 works by shifting power from the CPU to the GPU when the CPU is not fully utilized. If your system is capped at the base 50W TGP, consider these factors:
Total System Power Limit: The Nitro V 15 often uses a 135W AC adapter. This relatively low power overhead for the whole system (CPU + GPU + Screen + Fans) can sometimes prevent the GPU from drawing the full extra 25W if the CPU is also under moderate load.
Software Power Profiles: Dynamic Boost is heavily tied to NitroSense and Windows Power plans. It often only unlocks the full wattage in "Turbo" or "Performance" modes.
Troubleshooting Steps to Unlock 75W
Check BIOS/Firmware Updates: Acer frequently releases BIOS updates specifically to stabilize power delivery. Ensure you are on version v1.32 or newer for the ANV15-52 model.
Use Acer-Validated VGA Drivers: Users report that generic NVIDIA drivers can sometimes lead to lower wattage caps. Reinstalling the specific VGA driver from the Acer Support Page using your SNID is recommended.
Disable "Whisper Mode" and "Battery Boost": In the NVIDIA Control Panel, ensure these settings are turned Off, as they are designed to cap power consumption to save battery or reduce noise.
NitroSense Configuration:-
Set the mode to Turbo or Performance.
If available, enable Discrete GPU Only mode to bypass the integrated graphics (iGPU), which can sometimes help prioritize power to the dGPU.
Windows Graphics Settings: Go to Settings > System > Display > Graphics, add your game's .exe, and manually set it to "High performance" to ensure the RTX 5050 is fully engaged.
