The monitor is very finicky. You have to create the correct configuration to get 144Hz at 4K with 10 bit color. It really is goofy, but you'll eventually get it. The issue appears to have something to do with the "super sharpness" setting. If I turn this setting to "off" the problem is REALLY bad and frequent. If I turn it to on, I haven't seen the issue yet. The problem now is that everything is "super sharp".

The pitiful part is that Acer's own forums cause the image retention issue to appear! Their own forums!

This needs to be seen. This issue is REALLY bad. It is doing this a lot now. This monitor is a lemon. I feel like I just threw money in the garbage with this monitor!

Bump....... The problem is still there. I got it to work once, but when I switched back to Gsync (it should be blacked out) and then back to non-Gsync (it should not be blacked out) the problem came back. They are very different monitors. The GP (which I bought) uses 2 displayport cables to get 144Hz at 4K with 10 bit color. The P version supports only one DP cable, so if I remember correctly, you can't do 4k 144Hz and 10 bit all at the same time. What was your issue with 2 displayports? Do you have the XB273K GP? I have the GP and it doesn't support 4k 144Hz through HDMI.

One has a native Gsync module and the other (GP) doesn't. The links that the other poster threw out there do not capture the full differences between these monitors. Matter fact, Acer is almost misleading with their product descriptions. 

Same laptop here, same frustrating problem.

Are there any Acer reps on this forum? How can I get help with this? No one seems to respond around here. This laptop is just past the warranty (of course) and this is frustrating for a 2000+ dollar laptop. I thought it was Gsync, but it did it again today without Gsync enabled.
