Mal Batterie rausnehmen, Netzstecker rausziehen und Ein/Aus-Schalter 30 Sek drücken.
-

I would say Y-E-S.

Installation process will abort wihout these drivers?

So which version of windows? I installed the latest Win10 1703. I had 3 devices that were not correctly installed but I could actualize the drivers for those devices in the device manager after the Win10 installation process. At least for my type of e5-571g i found only bios updates that can be executed within windows.…

How (from DVD USB?) and which version of windows 10 (1511,1607,1703) are you trying to install? Does Win10 abort the installations process or when does the fail occure? Are you installing Windows via UEFI or from Legacy (Bios) mode? I myself had problems on my E5-571g to install a fresh Win10 from UEFI likly because of…

Have you tried "Hardware and Devices-Troubleshooting"? https://goo.gl/images/SvE4ra

Here you can upgrade for free: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/accessibility/windows10upgrade If you have Win 7 or 8.

Try the following: Open "Device Manager" and expand "System Devices". Open "Intel Management Engine Interface", open Tab "Power Management" and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device...".

correct.

No need for the Win 8.1 version. Just do the following: Go to the device manager and open "Intel Management Engine Interface" under "System devices". Click on the "Energy managment" tab and uncheck the option "allow computer to shut off device". That did the trick for me.

Hi again, It has worked now, at least from UEFI and with GPT. I've disabled "secure boot" and Win10 did install on the caddy-drive. And also all devices were installed. So "secure boot" was the cause. I have now a legacy Win10 on th first drive and a UEFI Win10 on the caddy drive. ;-) Thanks for giving me the hint.

Thanks very much for your reply. The Sata port for the DVD-Player is SATA-III 6 Gbs at least HWINFO64 says so. That's why I bought a SATA-III capable Caddy. With the caddy plugged in it says "current interface speed: Gen3 6.0 Gbps" while DVD-Player showed "Gen1 1.5 Gbps". How do I "...update the secure boot table"? I have…

I've tried to install Win10 on the Caddy-Drive and the weirdest thing happened: Win10 did install but was not able to install several PCI related System-Devices incl. GPU. It looks like the S-ATA port of the DVD-Drive is somewhat stripped down on the E5-571G. :-(

Update: Changed the bios from UEFI to legacy and it looks like my E5-571G now shuts down with the power button and goes to sleep with F4 correctly with an external display pluged in.

I have the same problem with my E5-571G with Win10 Creators Update but ONLY when I have an external Monitor attached via HDMI and ONLY if I use the F4 Key to get into sleep or the Power button to shut it down. Sleep and shutdown via the OS works. Any solution?
