Oh wow, why cant we even set the default numlock state in the BIOS. whats the reason FOR TAKING THAT FROM US? Would be okay, if there werent a dedicated numpad included in the keyboard layout, but that isnt the case now, is it? they are really making me regret the decision to buy one of their inferior laptops...
-
doubt they have to... but why they still do it is beyond me.
-
didnt have to do it on win7, but apparently, win8 is even more strict about this... dunno why acer so so behind on properly providing drivers for the products. when i asked them about usable drivers on win7, they just told me, win7 isnt supported. yeah right. bull**bleep** support.

if it still wont work with that version (you can find it on guru3d.com), paste your string and ill mod the inf for you, just to make sure

i didnt test the latest ones yet, so i might actually run into the same issue. try 340.43 or 337.88 instead. also make sure to use the string provided on your system. it may differ from mine!

Error msg and which driver?
-
Nope, should work. Just do it for ntamd6.3
-
well, guess you have to contact tech support now. sorry mate.

sounds more like a windows/driver issue to me. run linux from a usb stick and see if you have the same issue there.

We need such features for every acer laptop perneo. I know there are some BIOS for certain models out there that unlock what Acer stole from us, but newer models are yet to be modded successfully, as Acer introduced a security feature, stopping anyone from successfully flashing a modded BIOS. Yo Acer, ! I sometimes wonder…

disabling the horrible secure boot feature unlocks the F12 menu on my acer laptop (v5-573G). overall, the available features are just horribly lacking. there is basically only time and boot order you can set. it is one of the worst BIOS out there and i already complained at tech support about this. there are hacked bios…

contact tech support? seems to me like its broken after all.

I was able to install the drivers just fine on v5-573G after some trouble (GTX850M though) which driver version are you trying to install?
-
Unfortunately, one cannot edit their posts, so I have to post a new one... Here are a few more lacking features: * Set allocated memory for iGPU (Intel/AMD integrated GPU) (extremely useful, especially when youre short on RAM) * Enable/Disable webcam * Enable/Disable integrated speakers * Enable/Disable touchpad * Set CPU…

dxdiag doesn't really support multiple GPUs, so its not reliable. If you really do have the drivers installed successfully, then you should be able to rightclick applications and shortcuts to them and have the option "Run with graphics processor ->", where you can pick either the Intel or Nvidia gfx card to run said…

It does. I have a Crucial M500 240GB installed :-)

Jaaa das problem kenne ich. Hier wie man es löst, meine anleitung schreibe ich jetzt aber nicht nochmal auf deutsch: 1. Discover the HW ID of you gfx card: 2. Open the device manager and go to the properties of your yet to be installed graphicscard (3D Video Controller) 3. go to the details tab and select Hardware IDs 4.…

I just modded the drivers and they are now installing. I edited the nvami.inf and added these two lines in their respective sections: [NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.1] %NVIDIA_DEV.1391.22CB.1043% = Section308, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1391&SUBSYS_079B1025 [String] NVIDIA_DEV.1391.22CB.1043 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M - MODDED" they…

signed. the available bios options are a real downer, especially that horrible secure boot that shows tons of new option one cannot change... whats up with that? well, secure boots the **bleep** anyway! P.S. on V5-573G

Laut HWID des Touchpads (SYN1B71) handelt es sich bei meinem V5-573G (model mit der 850M) um ein Synaptics Touchpad.
