Hi all,

Acer R7-571G 64bit, Intel Core i7, running Windows 8.1

So as mentioned above. I am unable to use bluetooth at all. The setting to turn it on/off is 'greyed out' so cant be used at all.

Ive tried checking for updates. there are no microsoft or acer updates, the only update  I can find on the Broadcom site is a full install package, but it requires bluetooth to be on to do the install, so its no use.

Ive tried reinstalling the drivers via the device manager, & followed instructions from another link that advised to edit a setting in the registry, it seemed to semi work, the bluetooth icon now shows up in the notification panel when I check settings, but it cant be turned on or anything done with it. Still No good.

this is the actual error I get.

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"

Im at the end of my tether with this, Ive searched endlessly for it and dont know what to try next.

I couldnt even say when bluetooth last worked as Ive not used it, But do recall there being a bluetooth icon in the tray that looked to be working.

Ive only just got a new bluetooth device (Bluedio Headphones) that Im wanting to use with my Acer R7, and now found I obvisouly cant turn bluetooth on.

this link also helped to a degree, but im still stuck

I did come across these suggestions but am skeptical of downloading programs ive not heard of that probably gives the refer kickbacks for referals....

It seems to be either a registry or software issue. Anyone know of this issue or have good advice??

thanks in advance, hopefully!

Bluetooth is shipped disabled. So to enable
Go to Charms. Select Settings > Change PC Settings > Wireless. Or press the Windows key + W. Type 'Wireless', Click Wireless.  Click the Bluetoot toggle switch to enable.

In desktop notification area, click the Bluetooth icon, and Open Settings
