I have an acer M5-481tg, and the backlit turns on automatically when I plug in the power cord, its very annoying, how to turn it off?

I know that but I just don't want to turn it on automatically.

So sorry. Looks like you're not the only one who'd like to change the default behavior of the backlit keyboard.

At this point, I can only suggest that you go thru all of control panel's panel keyboard options to see if there are any switches you can try that might be buried in there. I don't have a backlit KB  so I can't tell you where specifically to search for any switches that might control backlight behavior. 

Another possiblity is to enter the bios setup to see if there are any other default backlight options to choose from.

Other possibilities may be a registry key modification or a 3rd party KB utility related to its backlight control. However, these might cause other problems that are worse than the annoyance of simply toggling Fn+F9.

PS: I have a similar annoyance with my cellphone. Everytime I plug it in at night, everything lights up and stays lit. Can't seem to turn it off. Very annoying nightlight.
