I just received new Recovery CDs from Acer for my eMachine (now owned by Acer).

My system crashed after a blackout during a Windows 7 update.  I tried using my recovery discs to no avail.  I just bought new CDs from Acer but the same things happen during the recovery.  I booted the machine, pushed F12 and set the boot to the CD/DVD device.  The computer accessed seemed to be accessing the CD or HD and there was a "Loading Windows Files guage along the bottom.  After a few minutes the screen said loading Windows and after a few more minutes a screen became visible "eMachines Recovery Management" .  In the box the message followed "please wait a moment"  It accessed the HD several times over a 5-6 timeframe and then nothing.  That screen has remained the same for one hour.  Any suggestions or help would be appreciated

    Hello,

    1. Have you tried changing the boot priority in the bios setup utility:
      DVD drive in first position.
    2. What model do you own exactly?

My eMachine is E442-V429.  It has an AMD processor running Windows 7.  When I booted the machine I pressed F12 and set the DVD as the boot device. and it started reading the 1st disc - system disc.
