If you are thinking of upgrading an older machine to windows 8, can I suggest that if you do, buy the access key and download it. I upgraded vista to windows 8 and frankly had quite a few problems, eventually accepting that vista was a lot better than windows 8 on my current set up. Had I bought a disc it would have apparently wiped the whole disc making it nearly impossible to revert back to vista. Because I downloaded windows 8, in the program files I found Acer e-recovery and was able to reset my comp back to factory conditions. Hope this helps
