Acer Aspire F5-571 Glide Pad Improvements?
This problem has been going on for a long time! The glide pad has no sensitivity adjustment. Acer blames the OS and Synaptics while the OS and Synaptics (the glide pad maker) blame the other 2, meanwhile Acer customers are left to struggle with constant mistakes and errors. I finally bought a external mouse with a wireless USB connection. It's a extra piece of equipment and less than perfect but it puts a bandaid on the ACER which is a pretty good product except for a few small problems like the glide pad. The irritating thing is my last Aspire had a glide pad and that Acer had an adjustment for the Glide Pad to prevent accidentally brushing the glide pad with the palm of the hand!
PLEASE give us a fix??

Hi,
Are you using Windows 10?
If you have, try going to Settings, Devices and Touchpad and adjust the speed.

Yes, I have W10 but have already tried all of the Settings. The problem is the SENSITIVITY and there is no adjustment for that.
Thanks

Hi,
It's just below the taps, you can change using the drop down menu.

Nope, the problem is sensitivity and there is no adjustment for that.

So far I'm not finding that. Are you looking at the settings in MS Browser? I normally use Crome and am not very familiar with MS but I looked with out success. Are you looking on the Control Panel/mouse? Mine doesn't look like what you posted. Can you help me find "Taps"? I did a search and it found nothing.
Thx

Hi,
Go to Device manager( Right click windows logo, far left in taskbar), select Device manager, expand "Mice and other Pointing Devices", expand "Human Interface Devices"(if you have) and post the snip please.

Please explain
"post the snip". I have found the devices you suggested I drill down to but all I get are Properties and the only thing that opens is the Properties Box. I can find no adjustments except for disabling the Drivers. I did a search for Taps and nothing was returned.0 -
Hi,
Sorry, use the Snipping tool to get the picture of the sections of any page and post it here.
Type Snipping in start search to open Snipping Tool.

I was able to navigate to the location of the Control Panel you suggesred but all I see are Prop Boxes. Unable to post Screen Shot for some reason.

I found the Snipping Tool but cannot get it to post the snip here. Regardless, I found controls similar to what you pasted. But on my end at least, all I see are Prop Boxes. (I need to play with the Snip tool though)

Hi,
Right click Windows logo in the taskbar(far left at the bottom), click Device manager, expand "Mice and Other pointing Devices", use Snipping Tool to get the snip of it and post here.

Got it! ;-) I was able to get to above but as I said, all I see are prop boxes?

Hi,
Thanks for that, it looks similar to mine but please check the Mice and other pointing devices expanded, if it says HID Compliant mouse, you should be able to find sensitivity settings.

II have Win10 Home - maybe you are running W10 Pro? Maybe that's where the extra options come from?

I went through all of the Human Interfaces as well as the Mice, etc but all I ever get are Prop Boxes. How do I see what version of W10 I have? I appear to have W10 Home....

Hi,
Could you please tell me whether you get HID compliant mouse when you expand Mice and other pointing devices as in my snip below. I am trying to establish whether you have Precision touchpad or Synaptics touchpad in your laptop.

I have 2 "HID Compliant Mouse"
as shown above (figured it out) ;-)
one mouse is for the internal glide pad the other is the external USB mouse I added after being frustrated by the glidepad. Try as I might all I can get from these 2 mice are Prop Boxes which allow driver manipulation and other things I am sure but things I am fearful to change.
Suggestions?
(Thanks - as always)

Sorry - I selected the USB mouse by accident - but the internal mouse is the same.
