My cd/dvd driver is not recognised Code 19

Unable to use cd/dvd driver Windows cannot strt this hardware because configuration information in the registry incomplete or damaged (Code 19) Updated all software to no avail Only help online says to unistall and reinstall ?? How do you do this

MS Windows now usually has drivers in the OS. Go to the device manager in the control panel and right click on the CD Rom and uninstall. Then, reboot your comptuer. This should reinstall your drivers. If this does not work, there actuallly may be a hardware issue with the drive.
