Hi

During a bios upgrade, abt 15% of flashing, this pc stopped working.

Obviously, after the reboot , my motherboard was dead!  I,ve tried a CrisDisk, containing the previous bios.

I've installed a floppy drive, after having made CrisDisk.

At boot, the pc seeks something in the floppy, but 20 seconds the floppy motor stops, without success!

Probably I' committed any error, but ..what?

The original bios is RO1 A3

Can you kindly help me?

Thank you in advance

Regards

    Hello,

Did you move the BIOS_WP3 jumper in 1-2 pin (normally in 2-3 pin) at first? This one is located under the SATA sockets.

    1-2: Disable write protect

    2-3: Enable write protect

    • Out of voltage: Disconnect to the main power and press the power button twice before doing anything.

Thank you, but I've already tried these solutions!

I' ve also made another diskette, but ..no success

The problem happened just during boot block updating!!!!

Thi is the first time I encountered such a trouble. Ive flashed thousands of m.b.s, without problems.

May be its necessary a bios file with another extension, for this kind of recovery?

The mainboard is a Msi, (Acer oem) and Msi bios, for the same device, is quite different..

Another silly idea: if iI 'd use the original generic bios.wpn file of CrisDisk??????

    Thanks

    P.S. I've replaced  PSU too!

When I try to boot, the pc keeps on 'asking' for a floppy, but what file  has it to contain?

    Hi

    I' ve made another attempt:

I' ve tried to reflash by means of Uniflash. This time the behaviour has been different: the mb began reading the content of FD, but, at the end of operation, the pc started emitting a continuos and endless whistle!

    After this, no news!
