hello, i cant seem to set up my hdmi sound on my tv from my laptop. I try to set it as default but when i select it, i cant even click on it. It always shows unplugged driver, even though i can see it on my tv, its always sound from laptop and not the tv.

first of all check your BIOS version.

    windows logo key + R

    type

    msinfo32

    check BIOS version/date

if it's lower than 1.31, please download it:

unzip and run the exe following the instructions

if you are not comfortable, don't do it.

BIOS update 99% doesn't matter on your issue.

    have you updated drivers?

    Ok, stop.
    Don't update BIOS.

Let's try to fix the issue updating VGA drivers.

    with your AC charger connected

the root is your C: drive, so you need to copy the 2 .bat files and data folder to C:

once done, press windows logo key + x

    choose Command prompt (admin)

say yes to start command prompt

    then type

    cd\

    step1.bat

your system will reboot and flash the first BIOS part, once it reboots to windows

press windows logo key + x

    choose Command prompt (admin)

say yes to start command prompt

    then type

    cd\

    step2.bat

let it reboot and flash BIOS, follow on screen instructions.

Because those are Acer's drivers version and sometimes Windows update doesn't install the latest (honestly i found that it's updating the correct one, so using Acer's drivers but....sometimes it fails to recognise the correct one).

by the way, you can check if your system is compatible with Acer care center that will help you to keep your drivers updated:

    http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/software-acer-care-center

if not, from time to time, you have to look at your laptop support page:
