Updating audio driver resolves hissing with voice recorder

A conflict between the current audio driver and the Microsoft voice recorder application may cause a hissing sound when recording. Updating the audio driver to version 10.24.0.4009 (or later) resolves the problem. The driver is posted on the Acer Drivers and Manuals page.
