    whysoserious,

Looking at the Android forums, trying a factory reset seemed to fix this issue a lot were having. Another thing that was discussed was making sure all your apps you use are up to date for the new OS, and check the settings for each for battery draining possibilities.

I update my Acer Liquide Jade S to Lollipop 5.1.

WiFi turned On, and under advanced WiFi settings I have Keep WiFi on during sleep set to Always.

But in deep sleep, no wifi connection. Why?

In Kitkat 4.4 there was not problem.

    Is this a Lollipop bug?

After you upgrade to Lollipop, perform a factory reset according to the Android forums, that fixes it for most of the people.

give me this weekend to test it. Smiley Happy

do you have any steps to help me reproduce this behaviour?

sound streaming over wifi, files transfer?

    Ok:

    1. WiFi is on

    2. Under advanced WiFi settings I have Keep WiFi on during sleep set to Always.

    3. Then I locked screen

    4. I waiting 5-6 min, until it turns a deep sleep.

    5. Errors will occur is already!

    - I unlocked the lock screen, a see WiFi is off, but after 5-10 seconds switched on, but just because I touched the phone!!!

    - otherwise it remains off, and I do not get message (no messenge, viber, e-mail, nothing)

    - when I unlocked the lock screen -> Wifi turn on, and I get the message in time only, also what actually arrived 10 minutes ago

I'm sorry if my English is not very good.

    ok, set WiFi to Always.

i double test it sending email to Gmail account and both worked after 10-15 minutes with phone locked.

i would try again using FB messenger and other applications.

Do you remember your WiFi modem/router wifi protocol settings?

    B-G-N?

    WiFi has password to access?

There is my router admin page:

    Router.jpg

Whit Kitkat 4.4 there was nothing wrong with the same settings.

But why it is interesting to note that there is a password, or what settings I use when the Prone turns off the Wi-Fi (despite settings: ALWAYS ON)?

2 weeks ago I have an expectation another ACER Liquid Jade S, and Wi-Fi there is also flawed.

Therefore I have 2 phone and both of them have the same error. (Wifi turn off in sleep mode)

i'm just trying to narrow things to understand why you and another user had this issue and i'm not.

    still investigating.

i have an Asus too but DSL-N55U

does it happen at any battery percentage?

    can you check this?

On another router (in my friends) also I tried both phone and wi-fi but there was also bad. Smiley Sad

The phone charge is never going below 30%, even in the evening.
I am satisfied with the battery. Smiley Happy
So if the battery is 100% even turn off the wifi.

I consider myself a man of Technology, I do not think that I would be a mistake.
On internet search has been a lot of devices also have an error in Lollipop.

    I think it's a bug (Lollipop)

    But in this case:
    - Settings: "Keep wifi on during sleep: only when plugged in"
    - And the phone is really charge

The wifi does not turn off. Never, neither in sleep mode.
That's why I think that a bug. (Settings: "Keep wifi on during sleep: Always"

    I tried:

Settings > Wifi > Advanced > Keep WiFi on during sleep: Always                    and

Settings > Battery > Intelligent power saving standby: Both On and Off

but to no avail. The WiFi goes off immediately after sleep, and comes back only when

the phone is woken (example, on the lockscreen).

So there are absolutely *NO* push notifications (email, messengers, etc.) during sleep!!!

My Acer tablet (B1-750) works fine during sleep on the same WiFi network.

i tried again, phone was on sleep from about 1h and told a friend of mine to send a message on FB messenger, got the notification sound.

    i'm using G protocol, 2.4GHz

my S56 is pretty stock as applications, so i don't think i have something in the background that running and keeping wifi alive; by the way i will reset to factory and check again.

as last resort, you can try to take log of this event (hoping that log tool doesn't keep device alive).

In viber it is on the continuous turning on the wifi, but wifi still turned off in sleep mode.

    Good news!

i was able to replicate the issue.

i have to insert a SIM card, disable airplane mode, disable Mobile Data, enable WiFi. after a while the WiFi icon will disappear and there was no data connection available.

so your phone will not receive any notification.

this is the only case i had your issue/bug.

i will try to highlight it!
