Why does my computer screen go off suddenly and then come back on?
Acer notebook computers use magnetic sensors to detect when the lid is closed. If you place magnets or magnetic devices near your computer, it could cause the system to go to sleep or hibernate mode. Your computer will automatically resume when the magnetic interference is moved away.
You can modify your computer settings so the computer does not sleep when the lid is closed.
- Type Control Panel in the windows search box, then select Control Panel from the search results.
- Click Power Options.
- Click Choose what closing the lid does.
- Use the drop down boxes next to When I close the lid: to select Do Nothing.
- Click Save Changes.
Note: Best practices for computers and other electronics is to keep magnets away from them.
