Upgrade of ACER ASPIRE 5 A517-51G (i7-8550U)

Hi guies, my acer pc has total 8 GB memory and i would like to upgrade it to 16 Gb.
I have easy access (that does not require to dismount all) to one of the slot for a 4 Gb memory slot (ddr4 2400 CL17 1.2V).
What do you recommend for this upgrade ?
Shall i buy a memory of 16 Gb (so i would get 20 Gb total) ? Or shall i dismount the case in order to remove the 2*4Gb and replace by 2*8Gb.
Would the performance will be better like that ? Or just a swap of 4<->16 could be OK without loss of sperformance ?

Hi,
You have 4GB on-board memory+ 4GB removable module in your laptop, so you can by a 16GB and replace the removable module to make the maximum 20GB.

Crucial says the max is 32gb and it has two slots. Other sites say it only has 1 slot. If the two slots and 32gb is true and you are a hardcore gamer, you could put in 2 16gb, or 2 8gb for 16gb total.0
