X34 Ghosting

I purchased an X34 and as I've used it I'm noticing ghosting in certain games more and more (namely Fallout 4 and Hearthstone). I contacted Acer support and they suggested I send my monitor in for repair. I'm getting close to the end of the return period for the monitor, so I wanted to ask if this is even worth it? Is sending the monitor in for repair going to change anything, or is ghosting just a fact of life with this display?

I'm coming from an Asus PB278Q, which when I switch back to, shows no ghosting whatsoever that I can see. I really wanted to get excited for this monitor, but if the ghosting won't go away I'm not sure that I can.

If anyone knows any steps I can take to solve or minimize the issue I'd be happy to try them before sending this monitor back.

I don't really see any noticeable ghosting. But I may just be used to it, I've used IPS-type displays for a long time now (past 10 years). Those TN displays have a faster pixel response. The drawbacks of TN however largely overshadow any of the postitives in my opinion.

Do you have overdrive on extreme?

Normal looks better to me, but yes there is some trailing artifacts (ghosting) on mine as well. I've had that on every IPS panel. Actually every LCD I've used had it, but I've not used faster TNs like the PG278Q.

Specifically the response time section. All overdrive settings are suspectible to some trailing artifacts as you can see in the photos there.

Normal does seem to reduce the ghosting to more normal levels for me. I'll play around with it a little more though.

My previous display (PB278Q) is actually a PLS display. I have three of them and have loved them since I got em ~3 years ago.

Ah ok, the font here made that B look like a G. sorry. Yeah, the PB278Q is indeed PLS.

I've not experienced this level of ghosting on my display, although I always left the overdrive on "normal" as it tends to be the most optimal setting for gaming on these sort of panels.
