This is either a dead fan or a dying fan. I would take note of that and consider taking it to a technician. Any error on startup? Also make sure it isnt a disk drive or Hard drive clicking. Those can…2 -

It could have recieved damage from a power surge then. This happens sometimes and its unfortunate that your charger failed to save the laptop. Was your laptop even plugged in at the time?1
