Thanks for your continued help with this, JackE. I can't find a checkbox or any other access to a restore point on my laptop. I've done a few google searches to try to figure out other ways to find one and there doesn't seem to be any. Again, I don't understand why this the case - it appears to be set up to record them.

A control panel search for "restore point" results in three options: ~ trigger restore point ~ create a restore point ~ reset this PC I don't understand why there aren't restore points available.

JackE, Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately my laptop tells me that "Windows could not find a backup for this computer." I don't know why this is the case. Is there anything else you'd recommend?

I'm having a similar problem. My laptop is an Acer Aspire R5-471T, and every time it goes to sleep I have to do a forced re-boot. After sleeping it always returns to a solid gray screen with vertical lines. Oddly, moving my mouse causes a rectangular object to show the movement on the screen, but nothing else at all is…
