  • I did the same and got it back after two weeks. The fix was a replaced motherboard including a factory default install of win 8.1 with bing. Win 10 including personal files which was in my bricked computer gone.
  • I've tried hard to recover the BIOS myself. I did not succeed. Contact Acer support in your country to see if the can assist. Mine is sent to Acers repair center at this moment. Hopefully they are able to recover the computer.
  • Interesting. Wonder what the trigger is to this problem. In my case, only thing I come to think of, is that when I initially executed the 1.17 .exe BIOS file within Windows, I wasn't plugged in via AC adapter. I was prompted to plugin, did that, and continued with the failed upgrade as consequence. Was that by any chance…
  • Is there really a crisis BIOS recovery for this model Aspire 'ES 11' / Aspire es1-131? I've googled but haven't found any. The FN + ESC procedure doesn't work to boot from usb. Please advice .
