  • Wireless adapter is as per below (assume this is what you mean as I cannot determine Bluetooth model as it doesn't exist in Device Manager): For me, this has no connection to recent Windows 10 update. It's been like this since I installed W10 in August. Have you tried downloading and installing drivers for a similar model…
  • Word of warning, just be careful if you try a second attempt at updating. Windows wouldn't allow me to go back to 8.1 as the files it needed had been removed. Suggest downloading the ISO file from MS website and upgrading via the image from DVD or USB. Because I couldn't go back I did a complete clean install and ran the…
  • This worked great, thanks. However, Dolby Home Theatre v4 has changed to Dolby Digital Plus. Apprciate that this isn't a W10 issue... more so due to working in conjunction with the updated realtek driver. DD+ is a horrible interface and options are minimal in comparison to DHTv4. Even whilst running W8.1, I use the Realtek…
  • I installed the Realtek Driver update (R2.79). This does not include Dolby Theatre and it has now disappeared. Any ideas?
  • In your experience, is it safe to use drivers designed for other models i.e. V3-572 drivers for V3-571 model? I've run the same question by Acer support, and am struggling to get a straight answer from them. They also won't explain why much older models are being support compared to the V3-571. So frustrating!
  • I personally don't use bluetooth on my laptop (I have the same model as you) but like you reverted back to W8.1 after seven days of trying to resolve issues with Dolby Home Theatre v4 not working and my cold boot time being in excess of 3minutes! Regarding the Dolby issue not working in W10, apparently if you install the…
  • Hi there How have you generally been getting on with Windows 10? I have the same laptop as you, but when I upgraded it made my cold boot time reduce to about 3mins! Previously on 8.1 it was less than 15 seconds before I'd turn it on and get to desktop. I got so fed up that I went back to 8.1. Am interested to see if you've…
  • Hi Harry46 What was your previous cold boot time on Windows 8.1 compared to Windows 10? Since you updated the graphics driver and the recent Windows update, what is your boot up time now? Am just trying to see if these fixes have made any significant different. Your model (E5-511) is supported according to the Acer W10…
  • IronFly wrote: this is the most updated version of Realtek drivers 2.79, so windows update will not update it...or at least a new drivers release appears. those drivers are for windows 10, not old compatible versions. Thank you for clarifying. Apologies if I'm being stupid, but if I updated the realtek driver to 6.0.1.7564…

  • Did anyone encounter a significant increase in boot up time? My V3-571 went from about 15seconds on 8.1 to 3minutes (minimum) on 10! I got the black screen for a minute or so and then eventually you get to the login screen. Dolby Home theatre also stopped working. Have been trying to resolve it for a week and I found it so…
  • Hi there I too own an V3 -571. Unlike you, when I ran the Windows 10 app compatibility test, it said my laptop was compatible and reported no issues. So I went ahead and upgraded to W10, despite Acer website not having this model listed. For the last seven days I've been searching forums and the web to eliminate an issue…
