  • OMG - simply turning VMD off worked. Why on earth would ACER support not tell me that when I called them? And, I can't believe I've been searching the internet for hours and haven't found any reference to VMD on this issue. I must have been looking in all the wrong place. :) Thank you everyone who helped solve this.
  • No new options show when hit ctrl-s whether VMD is enabled or disabled. Somewhere else I read that you need to have the supervisor password set. So I did that and no change.
  • Looking back at your response, the A515-56T has an 11th gen chip. In the BIOS under MAIN I see an option to disable the VMD controller. Changing it did not make the AHIC option appear. But, would this effectively disable RST?
  • No ctrl+s option does not show the ability to change sata. Researching the problem I found a person who said you must be at BIOS 1.20 to make that option work. I am at 1.12
