Before that I had just Ubuntu along with Windy 7. I remember few times touchpad was unresponsive although it was maybe twice total rather than daily, but it did occur on Ubuntu rather than Windows. The touchpad is SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad .

The laptop came with Windows 8 originally. I never came to terms with the 8 so had for a while a dual boot of Win 7 with Ubuntu, now it is running on only Elemntary OS and no windows.
