  • It's useful when I need a timer. But then again, every is got a smart phone these days. So, yes, it's not that useful.
  • So I have confirmed that it's got nothing to do with the computer going to sleep. I totally turn off the laptop going to sleep. The computer is plugged in all the time during this test (nothing to do with battery). I rebooted the computer and have nothing running (other than the usual background Windows processes). I've…
  • Well, today Cortana mysteriously starts to work. Ask not what your computer can do for you, ask what you can do for your computer. Resetting is not an option cause I already have spent hours loading software and configuring it. I can do without Cortana. It's not that useful anyway.
  • Update: Called Acer Support on this issue and their solution is to reset the laptop to factory setting? Basically erase all the programs and configurations I've worked on for hours in the past few days?? I told them, no thanks, if I'm going to do that then I might as well return the laptop and get one from a different…
  • I have the exact same problem!! This Switch 5 is not even usable. I have to detach and reattach the keyboard every time it wakes up? These are the problems I have discover and it makes using this laptop very painful. https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/550473/switch-5-cortana-not-working#latest There is got to be an…

It's still doing the same thing. Cortana starts to listen but it does not recognize into text and does not respond back. However,…
  • Thanks, but what is a 'power drain'? What does it do? Why does it cause this problem? It seem to me messing with BIOS is a big deal so I want to make sure I understand what is going on first. And how's doing what you suggest of 'power drain' will help?
  • Thanks. But, I don't see a "Pen shortcuts" and there is no display of a pen. The link you've provided seem to show a Surface pen, not a Switch 5 pen. Surface pen has a button on the rear while Switch's stylus pen has two buttons near the tip. Here is what I see I don't see anywhere that you can customize the two buttons on…
