Just a FYI. I stripped it all down again and found a couple of dry joints around the power plug area of the board, ran a small tipped soldering iron over them and it's working again, don't know for how long, but...

No, nothing on the screen. If it's plugged in it repeats the flashing lights every 30 seconds or so. If on battery just the once. I have tried removing battery and holding the power button to reset, even took it all apart to reset the CMOS, no change.
