  • I think because CSGO is not a demanding game, the CPU will always try to boost to its maximum frequency (same story with me for cs 1.6). Download Msi afterburner and monitor the CPU clock.
  • I also have power limit throttling with -140mv undervolt. If you want hit constant 4.0ghz without power limit throttling, I don’t think there’s a solution yet. It has to do with firmware being locked. If there’s a way to bypass it then you won’t have this problem. I don’t think anyone who has the 8750h had any success…
  • What games do you play? I undervolted as much as you did and PubG never gets over 70C.
  • I also tried undervolting down to -160 core and offset. I did get better results the more and more I went down. I got 1222CB score with -160mv. However, I also did notice the CPU temp was jumping all over the place. I only stress tested 30 mins and although it didnt crash, I think it was getting to an unstable state. Im…
  • No thermal throttle for me. Do you mean "power limit throttling"? I do get it also. I believe its firmware locked. But if you get power limit throttling, shouldnt you also get lower CPU temps since its underclocking your CPU?
  • @Vin2 I underclocked to -160mv and got +10C while doing the same tasks compared to -140mv for some weird reason. Maybe it’s the instability of it. I used to get 81C while playing pubg before undervolt. Now I’m sitting at 60C (2-3 hours of constant gaming with fan set to 3600rpm). I have the Helios 500 though. @Red-Sand…
  • I think with undervolting, your temperature is still quite high. I’d suggest you watch @Red-Sand optimization video first (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XTPMwQKlfPE). after that, you may want to watch his undervolting guide and see if it will help you. Keep in mind, prior to this if you have undervolted a lot of times,…
  • Yes @M4rdock it was sealed. I bought it in Vietnam, not US.
  • @UncleMikey42 Hi there, thanks for your input. My laptop came with Linux preinstalled for whatever reason so I did have to do fresh install anyways lol. Yeah after tweaking a bit I'm extremely happy with this laptops' thermals. The reason why I always go for big laptops is they usually have more physical room for cooling.…
  • Hahahaha please don’t judge me. It’s partially your fault I started messing around with it LOL. At -140mv I got the previous temps back so yes I’m gona leave it as is..... for now ;)
  • HMM I noticed something really weird. When I undervolt to -160mv I get higher temps playing Cs (3.9ghz). It hovers around 70C. When I move the undervolt back to -140mv (3.9ghz still) my temps never get above 60C? Could it be that at -160mv the system is getting unstable?
  • Haha much thanks! Couldnt have happened without your guys guides. Yeah im pretty happy with the temps so far. I might leave it as is. I see some people on other forums get higher CB scores so I tried pushing my luck. Ill make sure not to boot it on startup. When throttle stop is ON the icon is RED is that correct?
  • @Red-Sand Ive been undervolting and right now I’m at -160mv and got 1222CB score. During AIDA64 stress testing the temp never went over 61C and CPU frequency was at 3.4ghz the whole time. My question is if I keep undervolting more and more, would there be enough power to get it to my 3.9ghz boost frequency. I still get 3.9…
  • Check out my thread I just made today https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/549707/helios-500-cpu-temperature#latest Basically all I did was undervolt the CPU (theres a video made by @Red-Sand to show you how to do it in the post) and optimize my laptop for win 10 (he also made video for this).
  • @Red-Sand Ok, you got me tinkering again lol. I tried values 0, 50 and 128 for speed shift EPP and got the best result with 128. Cinebench score was 1195. I already subscribed to your channel. Cant wait for your video on the Helios 500! If anyone else can take their time and put up their cinebench scores that would be…
  • @Red-Sand I think for now I'll leave it as is. Knowing my luck with computers I dont want to mess with it anymore lol. I had a gt83 6re prior to this and caused nothing but problems for me. Their cooling is not on par with this either (10 heat pipes or whatever). I think the reason why before I got the high temps because…
  • Yeah, it seems that way. I remember when i was stress testing on XTU i hit powerthrottle pretty constantly. Anyways, Im playing PUBG right now and CPU temp never reaches 60C and fps is almost always 110-120
  • Hi again guys! For some reason, I could only get 3.9ghz in Cs1.6. I got 3.9ghz while idling before the undervolt. Changing the Speed Shift EPP to 100 did a little to no difference when it came to benchmarking. So I tried Cinebench R15 just to see which had the best results. So here are my scores: -140mv: 1202 -140mv with…
  • So I have some great news... to me lol. After running AIDA64 for 30mins my max CPU temp was 64C on max fan settings! PUBG hovers around 50C now with 3600rpm fan setting. really happy right now haha! Thank you everyone on this forum. You guys have been very very helpful, especially @Red-Sand and @Skree. I have one last…
  • Skree said: Idling at 40C now :D. Doing AIDA64 test right now to check for stability and thermals. Will report in a bit! Thank you both in advance!
