  • Hi, I have a TC-885G-EB11. I don't know what difference the "G" makes but I'd guess it's very similar to yours. Here's some info from another post I made a few days ago. First, you may want to check your BIOS. The M.2 shows as NVMe Port1 when nothing is plugged in the M.2 connector. I installed a NVMe PCIe Gen 3 x4 SSD and…
  • First, you may want to check your BIOS. The M.2 shows as NVMe Port1 when nothing is plugged in the M.2 connector. I installed a NVMe PCIe Gen 3 x4 SSD and it then showed up in BIOS for that port and works great. If you are planning to install a regular SATA SSD M.2 it may not be "backwards" compatible to support that type…
  • I'm not sure if there are many people following my problem but here's an update on the TC-885G First, I'm running Linux Mint 19.0 and had a current Clonzilla image of that regular SSD I've been using. After I removed all the Sata cables and set AHCI mode the new M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 3 x4 showed up in BIOS. I then plugged in…
  • I may be getting "over my head" but here's something. I now have a Kingston ssd connected to a sata cable and just noticed my sata mode is RST with Optane. I tried setting it to AHCI as it may be this mode(Optane) is for Intel SSDs only. The Kingston ssd won't boot when Sata mode is set back to ACHI mode. Is it possible…
  • The other M.2 connector has a WiFi/Bluetooth card installed so it's definitely the right connector I've used for the SSD. Any other ideas? Thanks, Jim
  • I went ahead and installed a 120GB M.2 NVMe Gen.3 x4 SSD(Corsair Force MP500 series) in the M.2 connector. However when I look in bios it shows: NVMe Port1 Dev Type-not installed My config now is 1xhdd sata port, 1xSSD sata port, 1xDVD sata port, and the "installed but missing M.2 SSD" I re-seated the SSD and it still…
  • Hi, That's a great website....thanks so much! Jim
  • I have an Acer TC-885G-EW11. It's a i5-8400 cpu so it's quite new. Do you happen to know it its M.2 ssd slot supports only SATA or does it support the higher speed PCI versions? Thanks, Jim
