Thanks for the suggestions. I've downgraded the installed driver and also tried the generic Intel video driver downloaded direct from Intel. Still have the issue. Will try my luck with Acer support again tomorrow. Regards Jason

Hi Jimmiev I had considered that and did download and attempt an install of the Intel drivers. It failed. Will uninstall the existing driver set and try again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've installed these drivers. It actually made the problem worse, now going black about 5 - 20 times/hour at its worst. When the monitor is going black it appears that the HDMI is loosing connecting and then doing a "rediscovery/redetect" Do wonder if this is a hardware fault given its been there…
