  • No. Did you read my first post? No amber charge light and no blue power lights. They did come on just after I fixed the screen but only for a second when plugged in, and the blue power light just flashed when the power button was pressed. But the laptop didn't power up after that. I'll see if I can see any damaged…
  • Quick update: the laptop is going to be sent to Acer Support UK for diagnosis .. everything I've read online and checked fails to get it working so I'll just have to bite the bullet.
  • The last video is definitely NOT in English. That's the one brummyfab2 suggested but half the time they obscure the laptop with their hands so you cant see what they are doing. In one of the others they have power to the laptop so not relevant to me at the moment.
  • Wow .. that's not a great video .. but at the end it suggested another but for an A315 .. and seemed to suggest shorting out the two pins on the left of the keyboard cable connector. But still no joy. Waiting for Acer Support to get back now. I have a couple of laptop repair companies locally, but not sure they would do…
  • You means SW1? Yes, I've tried that. I've added extra padding to make sure it is down/active when the cover is on and also a small piece of gaffer tape!
  • Tried that .. still not powering up.
  • Anyone know what Acer charge to check out a laptop and repair? (I know that is probably hard to say without knowing what is wrong)
  • Can't see any damage on visible side of m/board. Will try and flip it over the weekend to check the tracks on the rear.

  • Tried that. No change. Should it power up with the battery disconnected from the motherboard? It doesn't btw.
