  • Honestly I just turn off the track pad and just let my wrist rest in the area before the keys. After many hours of gaming I have no issues to complain of.
  • I'm sorry but it is going back. I mentioned in the Predator section that one of the bars on the front side of the monitor by the logo has an issue. At the bottom of the right bar (if I'm facing the screen) has an LED that seems out of place that washes out (unusually bright) the lower portion of the bar. For some reason…
  • Honestly probably just shoddy construction. When I'm sitting down facing the screen the bar on the right has this bright led that washes out the red at the bottom and yet the top portion is dim so yeah it looks like junk. I get it that this computer is about gaming but poor details like this should never make it past QC…
  • I don't know if the markets are different but here in NA the G5's I looked at did in fact have a G-Sync enabled panel. Actually the majority of 1060 laptops I saw did in fact have G-Sync. It only became dicey when I looked at models with a 1050ti that I had to do a double take. The G9's do have fans I think with a higher…
  • The 230W PS seems to be standard on the G9 17's cause that is what I have with my GPU being a GTX1070 and it only increases to 330 watts for the 17 X GTX1080 models which also have a CPU that can be OC's as well. It would be a better business practice for Acer to do this than to make a PS tailored for each specific GPU…
  • Not worth the headache if you would have to wait eight days. The G5 designation I think is just what they use for their more cost conscious models since the G9's came out before even the release of the 10 series cards. The 792's are the previous gen of the G9 line with the 793's being the current model.
  • Honestly depends on how important the faster HDD and optical drive are to you. It sounds petty but you never know when you might need an optical drive for a disk especially if this will be your primary/only laptop. The FrostCore does make a difference that can be seen with thermal cameras too and the faster HDD will help…
  • Factory setting on my Predator has the #2 macro key set as a short cut for maximum fan speed. You can also manually set the fans to always run at wide open by going into the PredatorSense program and opening the "Gaming Configuration" (a little gear in the top right) tab.
  • I'm really not seeing a reason to go with the G5 since you said the G9 is cheaper. The Frost Core is often considiered useless because it does not lower GPU nor CPU temps at all really but it does lower ambient temperature within the case itself which can prolong the life of other components and lessen the work load on the…
  • I think Acer Predators cannot do what you want and to my knowledge they just have zone lighting. I think some of the older and/or more affordable units only have three zones as well with the number pad just being some 6000Kish white. All my peripherals hooked to my Predator are Razer products and IMO they are god tier when…
  • I guess at one point this backpack was free? https://store.acer.com/en-us/accessories/gaming-options/predator-gaming-utility-backpack I ordered one from Amazon and it arrived with mild damage (scratched buttons) so I will be sending it back. It doesn't look bad but at the same time it does not look new either and for the…
  • Did the same to my 793 as it does seem to run warm at times. When I was playing Skyim at 4K on Ultra I could tell the cooling system was working pretty hard. The laptop is about a week old and you could notice that new electronics smell blowing out the exhaust. The difference between what the fans were running at and…
