  • The two CPUs are compared here:- https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-T4400-vs-Intel-Core2-Duo-P9500/m1886vsm5851 However, in the benchmark tests, the T4000 base clock is 2.2GHz vs 2.55GHz for the T9500, so unless I increase the clock speed I wouldn't see all that improvement. The main improvement I would get…
  • The T9500 CPU is still relatively expensive (£70 new on eBay uk) and it could turn out that the performance improvement may not make it a worthwhile upgrade.I'd still be interested to know if anyone has had success with this.
  • That's not what I've read:- http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/GL40_Express.htmlhttp://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/GL40_Express-comments1.html https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/is-this-processor-compatible-with-laptop.1763838/http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17426 As far as I…
  • Is it also worth considering upgrading the CPU from the T4400 to T9500?Is the T9500 supported by the BIOS (Version 3.07)?
  • It's a Pentium T4400 (2.2GHz, 800 MHz FSB).
  • It's DDR3. What I'm unsure about is whether the MoBo / Intel Chipset actually supports the faster 1333MHz RAM modules? In other words is there anything to be gained by installing 1333MHz vs 1066 MHz RAM or is it restricted by the MoBo to 1066 MHz max in any case?
