  • Thank to all those who offered suggestions to enable me to access web pages again. Eventually, I followed the Acer full recovery procedure to restore the pc to factory settings. All is now ok.
  • IPconfig gave IPv4 address as 192.168.1.68. Yes, I have both wireless and wired connections but the problem persists with either.

  • Thank you both. I've checked the drivers and all seem to be ok. I should have added that I have another notebook and using that I can connect to the internet without any trouble. The 'status' of my BThub3 shows IPv4 Connectivity Internet and IPv6 Connectivity No Internet Access but I still cannot open any web pages.

The last time I managed to get this to work, when I went into Control Panel, Hardware & Sound, Sound, Manage Audio Devices, the Playback tab showed both the Laptop speakers and the TV.   • Thanks for your reply. However, there is no HP printer in the Start menu and there was no indication in the registry of any reference to the 'missing' file. Is it not more likely that some programme which runs on start-up needs amending to remove any reference to this file? If so, what programme?
