So I did finally get the DVD drive shipped to me. It does come with a separate face plate that matches the outer car that fits on generic hard drive holders. Also came with a different came, this one has narrower wires like you mentioned.

So, looking closely at the pictures, I'm not so sure there is an extra SATA port. It might actually just be a USB port. Perhaps I need a slimline SATA to USB cable?

My drive caddy has a slim line connector. I think that might be a 3.5" desktop drive.

Hi Matt, It was likely me. I also spoke with the sales people and they claim that a HDD can't be installed in my version, but that there is a DVD drive that can be.
