  • I think it's a stupid Intel "feature". You have to go to Intel's HD Graphics properties and disable everything you can find under Media tab (color enhancement, image enhancement, skin tone enhacement etc) and set everything else to Application Settings.
  • You will get 8 hours only if you don't tax your tablet at all. The moment you start doing something that uses your CPU/GPU you will get at most 4-5 hours.   • I have the same question. In addition to eating memory, it also uses a lot of CPU sometimes. Killing it doesn't break anything it seems.
  • I had i3 one as well (2365M) and now have i5 3317U. The fan noise is exactly the same so i think what you experience is not normal. In fact i5 on battery when not heavily taxed is using its fan less than i3.
