  • When I touch links the pictures load and that’s on a newish iPad so not cached or anything. Just open them in another tab to reference as needed. The overall process is easy just do not rush it. If your using a lot of force and muscle your doing something wrong. Hardest part is getting the right display for your needs. The…
  • Not sure which reset mode your doing. Would use another working system to download a "cleaner" to fix her issues before doing a restore. USB flash drive, search and download a adaware removal tool, malware tool both found free and run those. Also try another browser, could be a browser hijack.
  • An in addition current laptops (Acer for sure) will not turn on without battery detected and in working order. Kinda a saftey thing to prevent battery caused problems like fires, explosions and such. It is replaceable accessed by removal of bottom cover. There is a reset hole for paper clip if charge state gets misreported…
  • When I've seen this error its install related. Chipset driver must be installed first after windows is installed and reboot. In addition be sure correct chipset for CPU you have is used- aka skylake vs kabylake versions. This should sort out the rest when done.
  • It's a 2 part problem, the USB ports lack driver support during install under Win7. Next is lack of eufi support under Win7. Now add in lack of driver support from Microsoft/Intel for Win7 with the new hardware and issue compounds. If you really want to do this I'd use a DVD install for starters. Slipstream the drivers or…
  • If you have the connector it will be near battery reset button close too DVD sata connector, 4 pin flat ribbon style. I had posted a mod to keep always on with photo. Here's the thing tho, it needs the circuit for control. Other option is to feed voltage say from USB port. 3 lines are 5vdc, end one ground. Keyboard itself…
  • if out of warranty check the ribbon connector on motherboard. It is 4 lines, near midcenter with dvd tray connector nearby. You see when when bootom cover removed and the battery reset button is also close by to it.
  • So odd, won't boot from a windows USB install flash drive? As in nadda, nothing? All after a attempt to rollback the recent windows update? Out of curiosity how are you creating this media? The media must be in eufi format if on USB drive unless legacy mode is active in bios, this does not apply to say a USB external DVD…
  • Several thoughts on this, the roll back corrupted the boot partition. Secure boot will not boot from a non authorized partition and the one that should is damaged. Recovery media is on a hidden partition and should not be damaged unless...in the process of the update the partition table was changed. USB boot to fix…
  • LOL not quite what meant but if your happy good. So you know secure boot in simple terms works in hand with eufi too prevent unwanted malware taking over system from startup in the boot. If you enabled the sub passwords, (there's 2 layers) a menu opens up for boot table. In that you would then browse too the installed…
  • You are somewhat correct, the sata port for DVD slot is not equal too the main sata slot. Normally it defaults to more a sata 2 operation while main is sata 3. As for boot and legacy I would not gone that route but rather update the secure boot table by setting passwords to enable it. Next recommend boot drive in main sata…
  • Mind reader I am not. Going to need more information before any assistance can be given. System model, any changes from base spec you may have done including operating system, how update fails as in any error codes, steps you have tried to correct it, overall system status like example is there enough space on hard drive…
  • Wanted to add windows will report no cable plugged in/detected if none present until you click on the warning and tell it to ignore that status. Basically it's a heads up note to let you know and unless your using it and need to know status turning off the warning message is normal procedure.
  • You make it seem hard, it's not really. Issue is uefi bios and dealing with it backwards. Leave secure boot mode on, no fancy changes just add passwords for submenu access. Install say via USB stick using defaults. Once done back too that bios and add the Linux files for boot up to the allowed table by using the advance…
  • Well you would have had too plan ahead and say took photos of the activation screen which shows that info. Even with next would be too contact Microsoft and see if they can find you in their system from when you first registered the operating system and then hope they can point you in next step, info to take to law…
  • Sounds more like spamware slowing it down. If Speedtest shows ok hardware fine and suspect software troubles. You state issue seems to be both on wifi and Ethernet so again points to software bloat. Would be good to run several scans, maybe try anti malware scans (several decent free/trial versions out there). Then say…
  • Sorry it was misappropriated without consent. Windows 10 has some features to allow tracking it down. Bigger concern should be personal information on it. If you used passwords on both bios and windows boot some of the data may be protected. As far as I know of nothing can be done at this end of things. I'd check windows…
  • I never used the hdmi port on mine yet but have had issues on my desktop detecting correctly. There are two issues your fighting that I can think of, internal intel CPU graphics vs the nvidia discrete graphics and default monitor output. On the desktop I could and did just disable the on chip graphics forcing all video…
  • Might be but I never had the interest to run Win7 anymore, I just run Win10 and Linux Mint dual boot. Best guess would be trail an error. Force a prior driver. Edit ini to use a particular driver. Hack CPU microcode to mimic skylake or last replace CPU with skylake version which has the Win7 driver. Of all solutions the…
  • There are no USB drivers for the new kabylake CPU to function on Win7. Microsoft/ Intel never released any thus the problem. Skylake has them but not kabylake. Look it up on web if you doubt this. Only way would be to attempt hacked drivers. Something todo with pushing operating systems forward with newer hardware thus no…
