  • "Also checked the screws to make sure battery isn't loose. " Double check that the center screw and bottom left corner screw are set correctly and tight. I think these are the two over the battery reset and power button. Also check that you battery can fully charge, and run a battery report using the instructions found…
  • I didn't mean to insinuate that your drivers aren't up to date, just that BT uses the same antenna as Wifi, it just requires specail drivers to send the BT signal over the same antenna as wifi. What I don't understand is you created the orginal post after you already upgraded the card, and you said later it's working well,…
  • BT is usually transmited along the 2.4 frequency at 2.480 to 2.4835Mhz. This keeps it above most Wifi 2.4 frequencies, but you do get some overlapp that the card has to be designed for. That's why bad drivers can cause bluetooth to conflict with wifi.
  • "Because it's my understanding that a 2x2 card needs two antennas. " It does. I am confused. Your first post said you wanted to upgrade your wireless card. Then you said you already, from a Intel 3160. Did you really mean the Intel XMM 7160? If so, that is a Wifi AC card with cellular LTE. Notice both have two antenna…
  • "I just wanted to know it it shipped with 2 antennas." Yes, it did. But why do you want to know that? " I'd love to find a card that would do a gig." That isn't very likly. Anything over 867Mbps usually requires propreitary systems designed by certian manafactures, so the wireless CPU in the router needs to be the same…
  • It uses a Intel? That would explain why I found pictures of Intel cards when I googled, but I didn't believe it since the support site offers Realtek wireless NIC drivers for that model. I doubt replacing the antenna will help, and if done wrong, can cause lots of problems. Just running the wire through all the tiny wire…
  • Did you recently open the laptop up to upgrade anything, or has it fallen on the ground? If not, as crazy as this sounds, try gently tapping on the fan vents on the bottom of the laptop. As explained here: "Since this new models don't have a removable battery, they've installed a little micro switch under the bottom hatch…
  • Might need to wait for a moderator to check. From what I can tell, you need the laptops SNID to look up exact hardware on Acer's support site. My guess is it uses a Realtek RTL8812AEBT, which is a Wifi AC two antenna mini PCI-e with bluetooth. What are you trying to upgrade the wireless NIC to? Do you mean upgrade the card…
  • What is the full model number? There are many different Aspire E5-771 laptops. Is it a Aspire E5-771-58YD? E5-771G-51T2?
  • Seems legit to me too. I think it is a red model of the part number NX.GDZSG.003. The specs seems exact otherwise. I personally like the E5-575G-53VG better, as the MSR is cheaper and has a 256GB SSD. If you don't need the 1TB storage (because you can use a external 2TB USB-C HDD), it's a big performance buff.
  • " So i think maybe wall socket or distribution hub is faulty" If I had to guess, your hub and/or wiring is restricted to a 10/100Mbps cap caused by the hardware capability. You can tell this by looking at the network connection rate as described previously, while connected to the router. I bet that will be 10/100/1000Mbps,…
  • Bad news, looks like your screen is broken. If you want to test it, try connecting a HDMI from the laptop and connect it to a external monitor or TV. If no line, then your screen is broken. It could be a loose/damaged display ribbon cable that attaches inside the laptop, and goes through tha laptop hinge. If you have…
  • What Operating System are you using? The specs for the 59FD show Linux OS but the Support page says Windows 10. If windows 10, the latest driver is 10.16.323.2017. Click link to download or see the support page itself here. Also, can you run a speed test on ethernet and one on wifi? I suggest using DSLReports speed test…
  • Did you ever replace the fan? Just a WAG, but I wonder if your damaged a capictor near your CPU so your RAM is not detecting the correct settings. Check your windows errors log for any recorded errors that might be causing the problem.
  • First check that you don't have any extra adapters installed on your ethernet local area connection. You can find your local area connectiop properties by pressing Windows Key + R > NCPA.CPL > Right click your ethernet connection and left click "Properties". Here is what a typical properties screen will look like; Anything…
  • Check that all the screws are tight that hold on the keyboard. As per this forum post: "there is a "battery cut-off" microswitch on the motherboard, that is disengaged when the top (keyboard) cover is firmly attached. If the two centre (underside) screws are not tight enough, or the top cover is not properly engaged, the…
  • Malwarebytes has two versions, the free version which is just passive until you run it, and the paid version, which has the option for active scanning. The free version won't conflict with defender, but the premium may. Also, even if the active scanner is disabled, by default the client still starts when Windows starts, so…
  • Since I thought it was a service problem on boot, I ran Minitoolbox (link available apon request) from bleepingcomputer and found the following error: "Error: (08/22/2017 01:55:34 PM) (Source: Service Control Manager) (User: ) Description: The Computer Browser service depends on the Server service which failed to start…
  • I really think you need proffesional malware/ransomware help. I would really suggest Bleepingcomputers.com. What ever problems you had with the laptop are moot now, as you infected yourself with malware by mistake. That needs to be fixed before any problems from the manafacture are fixed. It's like if you just bought a car…
  • Have done all the normal scans and even done a few on my registry (passive) to make sure there is nothing there. My DNS is set to DHCP on the PC and set to 8.8.8.8 and 71.243.0.12 (Verizon FIOS DNS). This hasn't changed and I don't think it's a DNS issue since I can ping a domain even before the network connection has…
