  • Hi Jack E, Thanks for the reference to the motherboard schematic. I may need to go that route but I am not sure if the schematic is accurate, so I am reluctant to spent the money. Have you used them before?
  • The SF314-52G is different from SF314-52. SF314-52G comes with a MX150 graphic accelerator while the SF314-52 only has a intel graphic display, so the PCBA layout is quite different.
  • Thank you Billsey for opening the laptop to check. There are many variations of swift 3. I appreciate your effort. SF314-52G is the 14" Display with Graphic accelerator.
  • I do not see any number on the motherboard. Yes, you are right about the fault if it is still there will cause the chip to fail if reinstalled. What is done is, the corrosion has cause some deposit and bridging of the connector at top of the chip. The corrosion deposit are scratched at the connector pins and clean with…
  • It could be a regulator or a load switch. Actually, the set is still under warranty, but Acer refuse to repair it because it was caused by corrosion as a result of water seapage. Anyone who knows the chip part number will be of great help.
  • The top of the 5-pin chip is already stripped off. What you see on the top is the internal metallic part of the chip. I think it's probably an overload that cause the chip top plastic to be blown off. Still hoping to find out what is the part number of the chip.
