I might have been a little quick to celebrate. Sine posting it's dropped out 3 times, and I've had to run the troubleshooter to reconnect. Still, it's better than it was, but still not what it should be.

I opened the case to replace the card, which I believe has voided the warranty ( because who would ever want to upgrade the RAM, or install an SSD ). The connections were on good when I opened it, and I put them on correctly when I closed it.
