After 2 chat sessions, Acer decided I should send it to their local repair shop. I tried everything they suggested. On my own I tried to use my recovery USB drive. It failed. Then I bought Isumsoft which is a password Refixer. It failed too. I looked for a Trial version but didn't find it until after I bought it. My bad.

Thanks. I "chatted" with two Acer support people today. They suggested several things, all of which failed, eg., depress switch in pinhole on the back of laptop.Even the Password Refix, iSumsoft failed. The second Acer service rep indicated it had to be returned for service.
