  • Well, SCRATCH ALL THE ABOVE.... I finally got the S7-392 updated with the latest version of Windows 10, version 1809. Windows update had refused to even show availability of the new Windows software until today (my desktop was upgraded weeks ago). In any case, it appears my trusty, beautiful S7-392 will be keeping up with…
  • Today I did another manual "check for updates" on my S7-392, and after weeks of trying, there it was.... Win10 1809, along with a few other miscellaneous updates. So I installed the new Win10, along with other updates, on my S7-392 and everything seems to be working like a champ. There are some nice new features in this…
  • I fought this problem for months until I ran across this solution. The shutdowns in my S7-392 were getting progressively more frequent, until it was shutting down multiple times every day, especially at startup in the morning. Then I tried this very simple solution, and the problem disappeared immediately and completely.…
  • UPDATE: After using the new Intel driver for more than a week, I am generally pleased with the performance. I rarely get disconnects now, and have worked as much as two days straight without one. I did get another one yesterday for some reason, but after the connection was resestablished it performed flawlessly for a long…
  • The latest Intel driver does seem to perform significantly better. I'm not ready to call it a complete cure though. I definitely saw increased speed, and longer uptime on WiFi connections with the new driver, but, it improved from very poor with the old driver, to just mediocre with the new Intel driver. Speeds improved to…
  • Yes, this does appear to be new, at least as far as associating it with the S7-392. A few days ago, the only cable listed as an accessory for the S7-392 was the VGA only adapter and the power adapter. So it is good to see that Acer now says this multifunction cable will also work with the S7-392. However, I would have…
  • I agree. As far as I know, it isn't possible to connect this laptop via ethernet except through a USB ethernet dongle. But I don't believe that will work for some needs, such as Wake-On-LAN. I believe this model has a Wake-On-LAN capable chipset and motherboard, but I don't see how it is possible to use Wake-On-LAN at all,…
  • I have the i7 version of the S7-392, and I am very pleased that the fan noise is inaudible almost all the time. Under some heavy processing loads, it becomes audible, but still quite low compared to most laptops. I'm a stickler for silent computing, which is one big reason I chose the -392. and I have no complaints at all.…
