It's only connected to the PSU, it's the only cable going to the led strips. How do I see if it's shorted? Edit: I think it's my fault, I connected them to a fan header before, can that have broken them?

I'm getting a other card I bought it along with a pcie riser cable so I can let it sit outside the case if it won't fit. The dimensions are: L=290 W=134.31 H=59.9 mm I measured around 299mm length inside the case, I'll try it but won't damage the card if it won't go easy.

Mine came with a oem gtx 1060 6gb.

So I need one that uses the backplate currently installed?

Yeah it's my phone camera, can't really get it to focus. I tried the connector on a 4pin fan connector and it lights up. So the adapter should work.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Another question, I can't get access behind the motherboard, the panel seems to be bolted shut. Is there no way to added a better cpu cooler? Cause I can't get to the backplate.

What helped me is changing CPU multiplier to 3,2ghz. (i5 8300h) and undervolt + new thermal paste. My CPU hits 84c max now. You won't lose too much performance by doing this. CPU speed stays consistent now too. Before it hits 3,9ghz and reaching 95c and then keeps downclocking to 800mhz-1000mhz every now and then and hits…
