As you said I cannot directly use USB-A port to display an output, I just bought a VGA/HDMI to USB-A converter/adapter and gratefully it could display output to my external monitor

Alas, it would appear that there’s a wee Windows bug in the most recent Windows 11 24H2 update that no one asked for this Christmas.
