  • BTW, We had tried installing a 64 bit Windows 8 after the initial wipe, but it would never install, but the 32 bit did install. -just in case it points to something we are missing. It is a 64 bit system.

  • I used GParted to delete the partitions that were created by the failed install and converted all space to unallocated.   • I followed your instructions and get the same result as I described in OP. The recovery discs start copying files, I get to disc 3, and when it is finished it starts exporting. When exporting is finished, it starts applying.......then the same error pops up as in OP.
