  • I have checked the BIOS, but it doesn't display whether the video card has shared memory. I will assume it does. There are probably other devices that consume some memory, too.   • I have a new Aspire E5-521 running an AMD E2 quad CPU with 4 GB of memory. The OS is Windows 8.1 with Bing 64-bit. Yet, the system reports 4 GB installed, but only 3.21 GB usable. Is that device overhead?
