  • THANKS, later I also found this page also for more detail,https://www.acerstorage.com/products/dram-module/
  • I also bought the Aspire 5, A515-46-R14K with the AMD Ryzen 3, Model 3350U, Quad-core with 4GB ram soldered OEM. I also found similar data at memory sites that this unit would only take a max upgrade of 8GB ram making a total of 12GB. However the same sites said other similar series models like A515-46-R3UB lists max 24GB…
  • Oh sorry, it's Aspire 5, A515-46-R14K, but really was more interested if a generic relevance to the separate designations of Ram. I.e. are they both generic or would this situation be proprietary ambiguous to the buyer? (With 1R*8PC4 only on product and DDR4 on sales ad)Most every designation of Ram required by a unit…
  • I'm not allowed to edit the above post so posting again here, Acer doesn't appear to sell those at the https://www.acerstorage.com/products or if so I could not find the link. Do they not sell these directly from Acer?
  • I've got this same Aspire 5, A515-46-R14K came with 4gb soldered, wondering if the below will work? https://www.acerstorage.com/products/acer-ddr4-sd100-sodimm.html or even better this,https://www.amazon.com/Acer-2666MHz-Laptop-SO-DIMM-Computer/dp/B092XXR43F?th=1
  • I've bought Acer's for years and recently had to purchase another brand because so many of the Acer offerings eliminated a direct one shot way to use the Home and End keys. Folks who do editing of text, code, spreadsheets, cut, paste, etc NEED these keys daily and don't want to fool around with Num Lock etc. We use several…
  • Thanks JackE for the reply, but I wasn't planning on uninstalling the Miniport drivers. (1) I was asking why they show "not migrated" or what exactly does that mean? And were these Miniport drivers also supplied by the Acer (card mfg, Intel and Realteck) or are they only windows supplied drivers. Would much appreciate any…
  • Wow about a 1 in 10 brick risk. That's about a 10% failure of Acer's Bios flashings. In summation of the replies here ( of which I appreciate all ) that pretty much convinces me not attempt the updated flash on my Acer Bios. It's a bit surprising having a record like that given the fact that routers are flashed all the…
  • Thank for the replies, I now understand windows mode means to run the exe file from windows, not safe mode and not a command line etc. And I don't need a utility like WinFlash, InSyde etc. And I definitely will have power plugged in with fully charged battery (Laptop). I do have a recent EaseUs Image backup of all…
  • Thank you both (brummyfan2 & wis) so much for this data. I was worried I'd break the cover if I pulled too hard. I've had problems with other Acer's in the past where I had to remove more of the cover. I like Acers except for some of their covers are extremely ambiguous and problematic.
