This did boost the fps a little bit however in game there are still constant stutters and hitching and only 90 FPS. Is there anything else which would make this smoother? or should i just return and buy a new one? Thanks.

For an alternative approach, you can get up close and use a knife, as Burers are weak to melee at point-blank range. Be careful to avoid dropping weapons, as Burers will arm themselves with anything they find. If they steal your weapon, retrieve it immediately to keep the fight manageable.
