  • It turns out the iRST CLI is several versions out of date (years) and not an option. I have created a Windows boot usb and set it up to include the latest Windows version of the RST setup app along with some other tools. Booting to this with the Samsung M.2’s installed allowed me to create the raid 0 array and setup the…
  • OK, I will take the troll bait; explain to anyone bothering to follow your logic how a buyer of this laptop is suppose to repair their laptop when one of the raid drives fails? Even NVME fails over time. It's not a viable bios configuration.
  • That's not the full truth. The InsydeH20 Rev 5 bios has the full capacity to create, edit, delete RAID arrays. Acer locks us out of this functionality in their distribution of the bios. To be clear, they have created a machine that you cannot replace or upgrade your own drives due to this lock out. That is not acceptable.
  • So I just got off the phone with Acer's level 2 support and they claim the Triton 700 is sold "as is" and not user upgradable. This is NOWHERE I can find in the sales material and the online reviews often comment on the ability to upgrade this machine. To be clear: this is FALSE What they don't want is customers to have…

Acer has the bios locked down by default - an act that doesn't even allow us to upgrade the M.2's in my Triton 700 it appears. The process as I have done it in the…
  • I am trying to do this as well but the reality is, Acer needs to give us access to the advanced settings in bios to be able to create and modify raid arrays. They lock this out by default. They seem to be unwilling to publish how to enable advanced bios settings. Your only other option that I can think of is to purchase an…
